‘Ello Starshines! With this being my official first blog post, I thought it only suiting to pay homage to our dear Mother Earth in all of her abundant glory. Autumn is now into full swing here in the Northern Hemisphere, I am taking full advantage of everything she has to offer us be preserving foods at the peak of their freshness and nutritional quality. To say that my pantry is quickly running out of space would be an huge understatement.
Today here in my kitchen we are experimenting and coming up with gifts to give away for this upcoming holiday season. With each season that passes, I become more and more enamoured with homemade goods and locally sourced goodies rather than lining up to spend hard earned dollars in shopping centers that don’t really support local businesses or their communities or even worse yet, they offer terrible customer service. So while peeling an attractive looking orange for my son, I started to think about what I could make/create… Naturally I started to look around as my mind raced at the endless amount of possibilities; being a classically French trained chef definitely makes it easier to hold the universe as my oyster! And then it hit me while my mind came back to focusing upon my fingertips and the orange peel as it was quickly spiraling downward; Eureka! Why not create wondrous beauties from what you have right here around you!?!
Having shared that, I’d like to present to you all an oldie, but a goodie idea… Let each of us focus upon supporting our local communities this up and coming season as much as we possibly can! I know many of us here run our own businesses or have loved ones running their own businesses so let us be the change we wish to see. The more we support each other, the more successful we will all become. And let’s face it, it can be mighty lonely up at the top so let’s help out our fellow comrades to join in the successful life and live out our dreams not in solidarity, but in a loud and boisterous union!
*** Disclaimer: It is still possible to find great customer service today, it’s just a bit harder to find these days which is why when I do find it, I become a loyal customer for life. We call these loyal fans lifers here =) ***
